We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.  Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.

Children from 0-2 years will develop the prime areas first

These are:

  • Communication & Language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social & emotional development

These prime areas are those most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.

As your child grows, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas

these are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts & design

Your child’s key person will help your child to settle into nursery and will teach and support your child through observations, assessments and planning to ensure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs and interests.

We use a safe online interactive learning diary (ILD) to carry out observations and assessments.  The ILD has been designed to support home/nursery communication to allow parents to take part in their children’s progress.

When parents log in they will be able to access their children’s observations and outcomes, together with any photographic and video evidence.

They will also be able to access reports and upload observations made at home.
